With the aim of strengthening and honing the journalistic skills and social awareness of the campus journalists from different schools within the region, the College Editors Guild of the Philippines (CEGP) – Central Luzon will hold its 6th Regional Student Press Congress and the UGNAYAN 2012, the annual regional journalism skills training workshop and the 2nd Gawad Jemalyn Lacadin on December 17-19 at Gintung Pakpak Ecopark, Barangay Baliti, Arayat, Pampanga.
CEGP is the oldest and widest intercollegiate alliance of student publications in the country. This year, the Guild celebrates its 80th year of existence committed to the advancement of campus press freedom.
Themed Strengthening Ties and Bridging Pens for Social Awareness and Altruistic Writing, UGNAYAN 2012 will provide lectures and workshops on basic, intermediate, and advanced journalism skills as well as with literary genres. Forums, classroom discussions, and journalism skills trainings will be given during the three-day stay. Along with this, socio-political discussions and lectures will be included in consonance to the strengthening of social awareness wherein respected media practitioners and renowned writers are invited for this event.
Also, we will have the 2nd Gawad Jemalyn Lacadin, CEGP Central Luzon’s search for excellent and outstanding student publications in the region.
In this regard, we invite your publication to attend the UGNAYAN 2012. Registration fee is pegged at Php 2,000 inclusive of food, lodging, and kit for each delegate. Attached herewith are the program and contests’ mechanics.
Please note that walk-in or failure to pre-register will pay a registration of Php 2,200.
You may confirm your attendance on/before November 30. There is no limit on the number of attendees per publication.
