what i want to know is this, media: why did the issuing of the TRO happen just a day before the graduation, which did NOT give STC enough time to pursue a motion for reconsideration, when this case has been going on for weeks? they all knew when the graduation was. did we ever come to consider that have STC been given time to actually follow the law they would've done it? the school was stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea, and they chose to abide by their decades-long policy---stood by their decision--while still urgently attempting to follow the law by filing a hasty motion for reconsideration. and i understand their choice: if they allowed the students to attend the commencement exercises, their disciplinary process just became null and void. the school has to be tough to pose a message: they will not change their policy, their very foundation, their principle as a school, just because of these five students.

please take note that this issue has been dealt with silently. since february pa. only that this issue was kept confidential by the school. there was due process, and the offenses were not just about the bikini. and the students involved were not just first-time offenders in the school. even the parents knew of this because they were signing those papers that the students wrote, stating their offenses and punishment. and their signing those papers was their acquiescence to what the school decided. and then suddenly the school was slammed with this.

also take note: naka-graduate sila, wala lang gipapaso as punishment. and also take note: before they entered the school, both student and teacher were made to read the handbook and if they agree to all the school's policies, had time to choose if they wish to continue or not. the school's policy is as important as our law. stc is what stc is because they have these policies and they believe in honing graduates with values they aspire to instill in the students they have. kung dili ganahan ang parent ug student sa pamaagi ug sa belief ug principles sa school, they should've gone out na lang. simple.

unfortunately the issue escalated to a point wherein it included the very foundations of what this country stands. . .and that is the LAW ignorance of it excuses no one. . . at the beginning of this controversy I honestly believed STC had a fighting chance but I think they ruined it when they decided to act against the TRO provided by the Judge. . .now before you ruin a critically minded and well made article read this. . .

http://www.cdn.ph/news_details.php?id=13054 . . . Things can change. . . People change. . . Institutions, Ideals, Theories, The Sciences can change. . . This issue is now larger than just what the girls did. . . This encompasses the very balance of power and order in our country. . . What sense is there to have a Law and not follow it? This is the principle of double effect. . . True that the institution of STC strives to uphold the values and morals of its foundation but unfortunately due to some unforeseen or unfavorable factors it has achieved its ends without the proper means and that is to neglect the TRO which is provided by the Law. . .kana ra jud. . .that was one big mistake jud. . .I dont know who is to blame for that but the act clearly violated the rule of law. . .and it would be difficult to repair the damage already done. . .
Remember always: Ignorance of the law excuses none even long standing institutions. . .
